Camp and Brew Camp and Brew News

Thanks from Camp and Brew!

June 9, 2009

Well, the 8th annual event is over once again, and we've begun our long countdown to C&B 2010!

We've just finished consolidating all the generous donations for Brian's Wish, and we are very pleased to announce that we have a new donation record of $5,535 for Brian's Wish through Hendricks County Community Foundation! We feel this is no small accomplishment given the state of the economy and are humbled by everyone's generosity!

We certainly could not collect so much without the overwhelming generosity of the many people who support our event by donating in person, donating at our website, or from participating in our online 50-50 race pools! With this year's donations, it brings the total monies raised to help with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease awareness and research to over $26,300 in the past 8 years of Camp and Brew's existence. Wow--thank you!

It takes quite a bit of help to put on this event and it increases each year. We would like to especially thank the following folks for their assistance and support for another great event.  In no particular order:

  • Mary Ann, Jim and the rest of the family and friends of Brian Hall

  • Ashleigh Chappel for donating the awesome 2009 event shirts

  • Eads Graphics for their graphics work on our cups, shirts and website

  • Trackside Online for the souvenir cups

  • Friends from TrackForum

    • Roach for his generosity

    • rrrr for his generosity

    • speedwaygirl56 for her friendship and kind assistance

    • thehairpin for bringing Longs Donuts

  • IndyPortables (a division of Gordon Plumbing) for the porta potty

  • Kirk Lehman for bringing some great pulled pork

  • Jeff & Melanie Creek for their donation of bottled water

  • Corey and Jennifer Krause for the Longs Donuts

  • Oly, from up north, for the firewood

  • Finest LaserWash for their contributions of non-alcoholic beverages

  • The IndyCar Series and IMS

  • The Speedway Police Department, especially Officer Joe Kramer

  • All the people, anonymous and otherwise, who generated over 450,000 hits to our webcams!

Our "Screw the Economy--This is Indy" t-shirts were very popular and sold out early on Saturday. We apologize for those of you who didn't get one, and we want you to know that we have made them available at CafePress. You can go to http://shirts.CampAndBrew.com and get one just like the ones everyone was raving about!

As always we're interested in your feedback, so if you have any suggestions for improving Camp and Brew, please feel free to contact us!
