How can you be running a race pool prior to all qualifying being
set? |
| 1-What does "50-50" mean? "50-50" refers to the split
between the prize payout and the donation to Brian's Wish. Each pick
costs $10, so $10 times 33 drivers is $330. Prize payouts total $165,
and donation to Brian's Wish is $165. |
| 2-What is the breakdown of prize payouts? The person
who has picked the winner is paid $100.
The person who has picked the second place finisher is paid $35
The person who has picked the third place finisher is paid $20
The person who has picked the last finisher is paid $10 |
| 3-What is a "pick"? A "pick" is a randomly selected
driver from the available drivers in the pool that have not been picked
yet. Each pool will have 33 unique "picks" or "drivers" available to be
handed out to people who enter the pool. |
| 4-How do I make a pick? We are utilizing PayPal for
the collection of the pool donation ($10). Once your PayPal transaction
has been approved, your pick will be randomly assigned from the current
open pool and the name of your driver will be emailed to the email
address that you used in your transaction. Press the
Donate
button now to enter! |
| 5-What if I don't have a PayPal account? This is NOT a
problem! PayPal will process your transaction without having a PayPal
account as long as you use any major credit card. Simply look for the
area that says "Don't
have a PayPal Account?" after pressing the
Donate
button. |
| 6-How quick will I receive my pick?
We have fully automated this, and you should receive the pick in your
email within 30
minutes of your transaction being approved. Please note that you should
receive 1 email from PayPal about your transaction, and a separate email
from us telling you what your pick is. In the event that your spam
filtering doesn't allow our message through, you will be able to
see your pick online here on our website
after it has been processed. Please allow up to 30
minutes after the transaction being approved to have your pick be made. |
| 7-How many pools will you be running? A new pool will
be opened automatically as one fills up (33 picks). You can see the
number of full pools as well as the status of the current pool
on our
website. |
| 8-How many winners will there be? There will be 1 set
of prize payouts per pool, so there will be many winners! |
| 9-How will the prizes be paid out? If you are at the
race and want your prize payout immediately, please stop by the Camp and
Brew compound for your payout. Otherwise, the winners will be contacted
within a few days after the race and we will make arrangements to make
the payout. If the winner has PayPal we can make the prize payout with
PayPal, otherwise we will send a check by US mail. We appreciate your
patience of "a few days" after the race as we have to pack up, get home,
and get settled a bit. If you wish to contact us about your prize
payout, please fill out one of our Contact
forms and include your name, email, pool number, and winning driver. |
| 10-Why can I only see "full" pools on your
Show Pools page?
If we were physically running the pool, all the drivers would be in a
hat and a blind draw would be done. You wouldn't be allowed to see
what's "left" in the hat, and this is why the currently open pool is not
show until it is full. |
| 11-Can I stop by Camp and Brew and enter the pool?
Certainly! We will accept $10 cash at Camp and Brew to enter you in the
pool. We will utilize our Internet connection to enter you in the pool.
You will receive your driver pick, immediately. The pool that you are
entered in, is the same as what is being hosted on this website. |
| 12-Can I get multiple picks? Absolutely, you will get
one pick per successful PayPal transaction. Simply go through the
Donate process twice. |
| 13-What if I have an entry in a pool that is not full?
Camp and Brew will fully fund the prizes in an open pool even if it is
not full by the start of the race. |
| 14-What is the latest time I can enter? We will honor
any transactions made up until the start of the race--including any rain
delay prior to the actual start of the race. If you make a pick after
the start of the race, we will contact you about a refund. |
| 15-When I look at the pools, why do some indicate the person was
"PayPal transaction"? At the end of the PayPal transaction
there is a place where the person could enter a "Name to use for pool
listing". Unfortunately, there is no way to make this a
required field. If this was not filled in, we display it generically as
a PayPal transaction so
that we protect the privacy of the individual in the event that they
didn't want their real name displayed on our website. |
| 16-How can you be running a race
pool prior to all qualifying being set? Great question! Prior
to the qualifying field being set, all picks will look like this:
"Driver in qualifying position X". Where X is 1 to 33. At the completion
of qualifying, and after any post-qualification penalties are issued,
the "official" field will be set, and we will appropriately change
everyone's picks from "Driver in qualifying position X" to their
corresponding name. This change will be done right after the final day
of qualification. If a Carb Day practice (or other event) causes a car
to be put to the end of the field, this will NOT modify the pool
assignments--they will remain from the posted field right after the
final day of qualification. |
