Two-thirds of the field are now set for the 93rd running
of the Indianapolis 500 mile race, and the your friends at C&B are officially in
"crunch time".
Congratulations to Helio for grabbing the pole! Also
worth congratulating are the several drivers that provided a lot of
entertainment and drama for the first two days of qualifications: Alex Lloyd
(Pink Lloyd and most excited team reaction after qualifying), Paul Tracy (is he
in or is he out?), Vitor Meira (pull it--I can make it go much faster), Dan
Wheldon (if they fix it, I'll put it in), Scott Sharp (I don't want to pay for
two more plane tickets to Indy next weekend), and Sarah Fisher and Davey
Hamilton (super, feel good teams and drivers).
TommyD has made it to the Speedway for the balloon
festival and for the second day of qualification. Glenn has thus far been
watching everything from home in Denver. Glenn has the motor home about half
packed and will be ready to hit the road on Friday the 15th. TommyD will be
doing everything in the early part of next week like most years.
Watch out for us on Bump Day, as TommyD and Glenn are
planning to be at the Speedway!
The beer gets ordered tomorrow, and we have held
meetings with our designated food people Sue, and Mike. We are adequately
prepared to quench the thirst and feed the hunger of our many guests.
We plan to be twittering (http://twitter.com/CampAndBrew)
during the C&B festivities and will be providing super-special webcam coverage
of Glenn's drive from Denver to Indianapolis starting this Friday evening, May
15. You can preview what this will look like today by going to

Just a reminder that in addition to having lots of fun,
we are continuing our efforts to raise money for Brian's Wish (http://BriansWish.com),
which supports ALS research.
Even if you're unable to attend C&B and/or the race, you
can donate to the cause by going to
http://donate.CampAndBrew.com or get a chance at winning up to $100 by
getting in the 50-50 race pools at
http://5050.CampAndBrew.com.
As always we are still looking for a couch for the event. Our standards are pretty
low, but cushions (mismatched or otherwise) at a minimum, are required. Do you
live in Indy and have one you are willing to part with? How about a Grandma of
yours that just doesn't remember where she puts things? Bring hers! See one on
the curb somewhere that we can use? Haul it in and we'll thank you graciously!
We are still accepting sponsors for our 2009 event. You can have yourself, group
or company listed on our Sponsors page.
